The autopsy report on Christopher Wallace, or better know by his stage name: The Notorious B.I.G. aka Biggie Smalls, was released last Friday. More than 15 years after the rapper was shot to death. The 23-page report offers details that remind everyone of what remains one of the city's best-known unsolved homicides.
Biggie was 24, when he was shot and killed while leaving a party early on March 9, 1997. He was riding in the passenger seat of his car when another vehicle pulled up beside his and began shooting. Biggie was shot four times, according to the autopsy report. The bullet entered his right hip and passed through several organs. The other bullets hit him in his left arm, his back and left leg. He was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead at 1 a.m.
His slaying has long stumped investigators. Los Angeles police and the FBI both looked into the case but made no arrests. Many believe the shooting was tied in with the killing of his former friend and rap rival Tupac in Las Vegas. Many believed the west coast and east coast record labels had started a war between one another. As of today Biggie Small’s and Tupac’s deaths remain unsolved.
